The Canteen Coordinator is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the school
canteen.
Responsibilities
This includes the following responsibilities:
- Providing leadership to school volunteers to ensure the delivery of lunch by 11am each Monday and Friday
- Planning, organising and monitoring the day to day operations of the canteen, including:
- Management of online orders
- Weekly stocktake
- Ordering
- Menu Updates
- Fresh food shopping
- Helping out when a shift is short staffed or not coping
- Managing the Our Online Canteen online ordering system EACH Monday and Friday by 9am
- Printing labels and online tally sheets and updating Online system whenever necessary
- Communicate with parent and children over the counter or via email regarding questions and problems they might have about canteen orders
- Communicating with volunteers regards questions and issues they might have regarding their shift
- Being very aware of all children with allergies and making sure the canteen is a safe food environment
- Creating new ideas for the menu
- Orientation for new volunteers in the food preparation and other procedures
- Being present and provide a report to P&C on canteen each month for the P&C Meeting
- Ensure that stock is kept at appropriate levels and a stock take is undertaken at the end of each school term
- Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of others in the canteen including undertaking a canteen risk assessment for hazards every term according WH&S legislation
- Security in the canteen such as money, keys, locking all doors and windows, switching off all appliances (except refrigeration units) and restricting entry to the canteen to only those who are authorised to be there
- Ensuring that the cleaning is carried out properly
- Organise a large clean out at the end of each term
- Organise Meal Deal to benefit the school community. This includes sourcing food, ordering, processing and preparing the event
