We have prepared a petition to the NSW Government seeking support for the construction of an assembly hall at Jannali East.
As some of you may know, the School continues to experience significant growth in enrolments (more than doubling in size since 2004).
The School’s existing ‘hall’ (made up of two adjoining classrooms) has long ceased to be adequate for our growing school. The whole school cannot fit in the hall, and many of you will have experienced assemblies under the COLA – dependent on the weather (and cancelled when it rains).
The construction of a new assembly hall would allow activities and other events to be organised for the benefit of the School and the local community, providing the School and community groups with a much-needed, all-weather facility, sufficient to accommodate the approximate 367 students at the School.
The petition asks the NSW Legislative Assembly to support, as a matter of priority, the construction of an assembly hall at Jannali East Public School through the allocation of funds.
If we are able to collect over 500 signatures, the petition is tabled in the NSW Parliament, the terms are printed in Hansard, and the Minister for Education is required to lodge a response with the Clerk.
You can download a copy of the petition here – please collect as many original signatures as you are able – and return it to the school office marked to the attention of the P&C.
